Tech giants donated to Trump inauguration, report says:- Technology giants that are battling President Trump's immigration policies quietly supplied support to his inauguration, according to a new report that cites federal ethics records.
Microsoft contributed $250,000 in cash and $250,000 in technology and other tools to the Presidential Inaugural Committee, reports Politico.
Google provided services such as a YouTube livestream of the inauguration, and a cash donation, sources told Politico. Another undisclosed cash donation and tech aid came from Amazon, Politico reported. Facebook did not give cash to the inauguration committee but made an "in-kind" donation such as Instagram photo booths and a mini Oval Office for party-goers, Politico said.
The contributions, designed to boost influence with the incoming administration, may anger Silicon Valley technology workers who have been mounting grassroots opposition to Trump's policies, particularly the immigration ban.

It's common for companies to curry favor with a new administration by donating to the inauguration celebrations.
The companies could not be immediately reached for comment or had no statement.
Some companies have not yet said what the value of their contributions were. That may be because they were made after the Dec. 31 cutoff date for the most recent lobbying reports.
