Rockstar Is Releasing A Bunch Of New Gorgeous ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Screenshots
It’s going to be a hell of a contest for Game of the Year in 2018, as early contender God of War is going to run smack into Red Dead Redemption 2 come fall, Rockstar’s first new game in ages, and one that’s shaping up to be as amazing as everyone is hoping, or so it seems.
We’ve gotten a number of trailers for the game now, I believe we’re up to three, and now this weekend, Rockstar is releasing a series of absolutely stunning screenshots that join earlier images from the game. It seems inevitable that Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to have a photo mode, as it would be a crying shame if it didn’t, with how phenomenal it looks.
The original Red Dead Redemption was a beautiful game in its own right, but now with the power of the newest gen of consoles, things have been taken to an entirely new level as you can see in these screenshots. Yes, that’s young John Marston in the image above, as he keeps being featured pretty heavily in promotion, so Rockstar clearly isn’t hiding his role. There’s really no reason to, given that we know how his story ends.
We will instead be playing as Arthur Morgan, another member of Dutch’s gang. The screens featured here show off gunplay, horseback riding, relaxation and hunting, and this is a world I can’t wait to start exploring. It appears we might have plenty of time to do so, given that every other big game is fleeing from the month of October in order to get out of Red Dead’s way. I do wonder how sales will compare to Grand Theft Auto 5, which has broken every record in the industry, and I’m curious if Red Dead 2 might be strong enough to outsell Black Ops 4 this fall, which seems like a daunting, but not entirely implausible prospect.
But enough talking, check out the rest of the screenshots below. Facebook has even more in an album you can view here, and more may be added throughout the day, which I will post below.
