Instagram introduces ‘Superzoom’ just in time for Halloween:- Instagram has introduced a new feature called “Superzoom” that allows users to create spooky videos just in time for Halloween.
Like Boomerang, Superzoom lets you add adds a creative twist to your videos by gradually zooming in on one object, with dramatic music for added effect.
So if you want to show off your Halloween make-up, for example, you can use Superzoom to zoom in on your face, while giving your best zombie impression.
The tool can be accessed by updating to the latest version of the Instagram app.
All you have to do is open the app, tap the camera icon in the top left hand corner, select Superzoom along the bottom, and tap and hold to record – or tap once to record a 3-second Superzoom.
You can then download the clip or add it straight to your “Story” in Instagram.
Superzoom isn’t the only Halloween-themed update Instagram has made this week. The Facebook-owned company has also added five spooky new face filters and a new sticker set.
The filters include a vampire, a ghost and a zombie, while stickers include eyeball sweets, pumpkins and severed hands.
Meanwhile, rival social network Snaphat has teamed up with Netflix to launch a new eerie Stranger Things lens that transports users to the Upside Down.
The first-of-its-kind world lens allows users to take a virtual walk around Joyce Byers’ living room, complete with new horrors and those familiar multicoloured Christmas lights.
As well as original elements from the first season – such as the letters on the wall – there are new components from the latest season added in.
Will’s drawings, as seen in the trailer, lie on the floor as game Dragon’s Lair flickers on a screen in the background. A Demogorgon arm also reaches through the hole in the wall by a smashed TV.
Users are able to interact with the various elements in the room, which can be brought to life by tapping on them as the theme song plays in the background.
There’s also a new Snapchat face lens that mimics Eleven’s nosebleed, and a third lens that lets you place the swimming pool where Barb went missing in Stranger Things Season 1 onto the floor of your room.
If Stranger Things isn’t your thing, Snapchat has also teamed up with King, maker of the Bubble Witch Saga series of mobile games, to launch an exclusive Bubble Witch 3 selfie Lens for Halloween.
Players can unlock the new lens by taking part in the Bubble Witch 3 “Trick or Treat” event, which gives them the opportunity to play collaboratively with each other for the first time.
You can unlock magical rewards by helping Stella and new characters, the Tricksies, to collect candies.
At various points within the game, players will find themselves taken out of the app and into Snapchat, for example allowing them to celebrate when they pass a friend on the Saga map.
