Nolan Arenado, Alex Gordon, Jason Heyward among repeat winners for Gold Glove Awards:-The Rawlings Gold Glove Awards were handed out Tuesday, with several of the same faces appearing on the list.
Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado, Kansas City Royals left fielder Alex Gordon and Chicago Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward topped the list of repeat winners, as each claimed their fifth Gold Glove.
Gordon’s teammate, at least for now, Eric Hosmer won his fourth award for his defense at first base. Unless Hosmer accepts the qualifying offer tendered to him by the Royals, he will become a free agent this offseason.Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Zack Greinke picked up his fourth Gold Glove.
The Royals, Rockies and D’backs were among five teams that had two winners. The Los Angeles Angels and Minnesota Twins were the others.
There were also six first-time winners: Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman, Angels catcher Martin Maldonado, Twins second baseman Brian Dozier, Twins center fielder Byron Buxton, Cincinnati Reds catcher Tucker Barnhardt and Miami Marlins left fielder Marcell Ozuna.
