Eric Fisher did what he needed to do on two-point conversion:- Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid wouldn’t go as far to agree with his star tight end Travis Kelce’s pointed criticism of the officials in Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Still, Reid agreed with Kelce’s assessment that left tackle Eric Fisher should not have been called for holding on a two-point conversion attempt late in the fourth quarter. The penalty wiped out what would have been a game-tying pass from Alex Smith to Demetrius Harris. Instead, the Chiefs lost 18-16, and the Steelers advanced to the AFC Championship Game.
“I don’t want to be fined any money. I would tell you that I was probably leaning the other way, yeah. I thought Fisher did what he needed to do on that particular block to get that done,” Reid said. “The problem is, people slipped, making it look worse than it was.”

On Sunday night, Kelce said referee Carl Cheffers should not be allowed to even work at Foot Locker, a nod to the shoe store’s black-and-white striped uniforms.
Reid was careful not to make pointed critiques at Cheffers or his crew, but said that his experience has been that officials are typically reluctant to throw flags on close calls late in crucial games.
“They normally let you play is what they do, especially in key situations like that,” Reid said. “They normally just let it roll.”
