USA Delays Shooter Premiere After Dallas Sniper Attack : We may have to wait a bit longer to see USA Networks new TV series, Shooter, scheduled to debut Tuesday, July 19. USA Network confirmed the decision to postpone the premiere of the drama, in the wake of the Dallas sniper strikes that left 5 law enforcement officers dead after a peaceful protest on July 7.
The show, is based on the book “Point of Impact” by Stephen Hunter and the 2007 movie starring Mark Wahlberg. The plot revolves around Bob Lee Swagger who is highly-decorated ex-marine sniper, whose attempt to stop a plot to kill the President, finds himself involved in a botched operation and pursued by every law enforcement agency in the country.
In a statement , the Network stated that , “In light of current terrible events and also out of respect for the sufferers, their family members and our visitors, we have actually decided to postpone the premiere day for the upcoming USA Network collection Shooter to July 26,”.
This is not the first instance when a debut of a TV series has been postponed following a tragedy. Season 3 premiere of TNT’s The Last Ship was rescheduled after the Orlando cocktail lounge disaster, Mr.Robot of USA Network had to postpone its Season 1 ending in 2014, following a near true life scene, depicting the deaths of a reporter and a cameraman.
