Two killed, two wounded in city shootings Tuesday
Two people were killed, and two injured, in city shootings on Tuesday.
In the most recent killing, a 44-year-old man was shot in the head in the 12300 block of South Emerald Avenue in the city’s West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side. Witnesses told police that someone approached him on foot and fired shots. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
No one was in custody, police said.
Earlier Tuesday, a man was killed and another was seriously wounded in a South Shore shooting Tuesday afternoon, according to Chicago police.
The attack occurred around 12:45 p.m. in the 7000 block of South Chappel Avenue on the South Side, police said. Officers responding to a call of shots fired found both of the men shot in the head.
One of them, 21, was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The other, 24, was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.
A 20-year-old man was shot in the stomach in the 7100 block of South Aberdeen Street in the city’s Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition.
He was at his residence when someone fired shots at him, police said.
