Small plane crash in Kentucky kills four:- Four people were killed after a small plane en route to a Kentucky airport crashed Sunday, authorities said.
A Piper PA32 was headed to the Lake Cumberland Regional Airport in Somerset, a city near Glasgow, at 2:21 p.m. central time, before the crash, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.
Three people were killed at the scene, and a fourth victim died at a hospital in Bowling Green, Kentucky State Police Trooper Jeremy Hodges told the Bowling Green Daily News.
Hodges said part of the small plane was lodged between a large tree, and the rest was on the ground.
Police put the scene on lockdown until an FAA crew arrives Monday morning, he said.
The victims’ identities were not released. The FAA didn’t say where the plane was coming from.
A National Transportation Safety Board spokesman told The Associated Press the agency’s investigators are expected to visit the crash site on Monday.
