4 men wounded in shootings on South, West sides

Four men have been wounded in shootings on the South and West sides since mid-morning Wednesday, according to Chicago police.

Most recently, a 20-year-old man was shot in the left leg in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side about 7:45 p.m., police said. The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 5400 block of West Fulton Street when someone came up to him and fired shots, police said. The man was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Pak, where his condition was stabilized.

About 7:15 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in the side after an argument inside a Chatham store on the South Side, police said. The argument spilled outside when a man fired shots at the 20-year-old, police said. The 20-year-old was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his conditions was stabilized, police said.

In the afternoon, a 22-year-old man was shot in the stomach about 1:25 p.m. in a home in the 7100 block of South May Street in the Englewood neighborhood, police said in a media notification. He was taken via ambulance to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized.

A male attacker entered the home and shot the man, then fled, police said.

Earlier, a 23-year-old man was shot in the leg just before 10:20 a.m. in the 4300 block of West Van Buren Street in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, police said. The man went later in the day to Loretto Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. He told police he was walking when a dark SUV drove up and someone inside shot at him.
