PS4 Pro SA launch date, pricing revealed
PS4 Pro SA launch date, pricing revealed:- Those in South Africa excited for the PlayStation 4 Pro won’t have to wait much longer – with the launch date and pricing confirmed for the console.
The console will be available via retail outlets from December 7, at a recommended price of R6999.99.
This makes it around R2 000 more expensive than the recently released PlayStation 4 Slim, which retails for R5 199.99. However the PS4 Slim is aimed at being slimmer and lighter, while the PS4 Pro is more powerful than its predecessor.
According to Ster Kinekor Entertainment, PlayStation’s local distributor, several blockbuster games have been updated to reflect the new console’s capabilities, which include 4K gaming and HDR.
These updated games include Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Ratchet & Clank, The Last of US Remastered and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
“Ever since the announcement of the PlayStation 4 Pro we have been overwhelmed by the demand from gamers and it’s with much excitement to get this to them before Christmas, another leap in the world of PlayStation,” Ster Kinekor Entertainment CEO Mario dos Santos said.
Retailers the console will be available from include AWX, BT Games, C.N.A, Dion Wired, Game 4U, Incredible Connection, Loot, Makro, Musica, Pick n Pay, Raru, Takealot.com and Toy Zone.
However it is noted that if you do not have a 4K HDR TV, you will not be able to enjoy the console’s 4K and HDR capabilities – the main selling point of the product.
But Sony has said that the console offers other benefits such as higher, more stable framerates and enhanced graphics.
