Amber Heard Arrives for Deposition : Amber Heard Arrives for Deposition in Restraining Order Lawsuit Against Johnny Depp.On Saturday, Amber Heard arrived to her deposition in her on-going legal battle with estranged husband Johnny Depp.
Heard, 30, filed a temporary restraining order against her estranged husband in May after claiming Depp, 53, abused her during their relationship. She filed the request shortly after filing for divorce from the actor.
On Saturday, Heard arrived at family law attorney Laura Wasser’s Century City, California office for the deposition at 11:30 a.m.
The deposition has been scheduled and postponed several times. Depp’s lawyers alleged in a legal response that Heard “is attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.” (Depp is also scheduled for a deposition.)
L.A. certified family law specialist Steve Mindel told PEOPLE the deposition, in which the opposing side’s lawyers can question Heard as she provides pre-trial testimony, is “all about boxing the person in to a story.”
“The case will be won or lost on the stand in trial, when you can expose those inconsistencies,” Mindel said. “And if you can string enough of those together, then the person could lose credibility in the eyes of the judge.”
An insider told PEOPLE that Depp is ready to move past both his ongoing divorce from Heard and the case.
“It’s a very sad situation for him,” the source said. “He feels stressed about all the Amber drama … He never anticipated getting a divorce. He just wants it all the be over and move on.”
