The Washington Redskins turned to a castoff from their biggest rival to address a need at cornerback.
Orlando Scandrick agreed to a two-year deal worth with the team on Monday.
Scandrick, 31, was released by the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday after nine seasons with the team. He did not record an interception in an uneven 2017 season, which he ended on injured reserve with a back injury.
In Washington, Scandrick joins a secondary looking for help next to Josh Norman. He could take on the slot role left vacant by the trade of Kendall Fuller, who was sent to the Kansas City Chiefs in a deal to acquire quarterback Alex Smith. Starter Bashaud Breeland also remains a free agent after his deal with the Carolina Panthers was voided by a failed physical.
