DC police seek 3 teens in carjacking, crash

D.C. police are searching for three teens involved in an armed carjacking near the National Cathedral in Northwest that turned into a car crash in Southeast Monday night.

Three suspects in their late teens stole a white Subaru Impreza just blocks from the National Cathedral. One of them was armed with a handgun, police said.

The carjacking happened on the 3100 block of 36th Street in Northwest at around 11 p.m., police said.

The teens later got into a car crash with the stolen vehicle in Southeast. The crash happened near the intersection of Mississippi Avenue and 15th Street, NBC Washington’s Adam Tuss reported.

The three then fled.

There has been no word on the condition of the driver in the other vehicle involved in the crash. The owner of the stolen Subaru was not hurt in the carjacking.

Below is a map of the area where police say the carjacking happened.
