Former Mishawaka resident killed by husband in Florida:- A woman who used to live in Mishawaka has died in an apparent murder-suicide.
Police in Cape Coral, Florida, said Jason McGuire likely shot his wife Madonna before shooting and killing himself. According her Facebook page, Madonna Pierce-McGuire went to Penn High School.
Police were called to the home early Saturday morning.
Madonna’s neighbor, Pauline Strahman, says Madonna was supposed to come to her home that morning to help with housekeeping. But instead she saw Madonna’s house wrapped with crime scene tape.
“We saw a scene that looked right out of CSI, cop cars all over, and we walked around and I said that’s Madonna’s house. It just breaks my heart, it truly truly does,” said Strahman.
About a week ago, police say Jason tracked Madonna using GPS he installed in her car, and then confronted her. Jason swung a hammer during the argument, and someone nearby called 911.
Madonna told police she was scared for her life and afraid Jason would kill her. Jason posted bail on Dec. 2nd. and a judge issued a no contact order.
