Asus’ new ZenBook Pro is the thinnest and fastest ZenBook Pro ever

Asus’ new ZenBook Pro is the thinnest and fastest ZenBook Pro ever:-Asus has a new model in its ZenBook Pro line, the UX550, that the company claims is the “fastest, thinnest, and lightest ZenBook Pro” that it’s ever made.

The specs aren’t quite the top of the line, though, even for the so-called fastest ZenBook Pro ever. A seventh-generation Intel Core i7 processor is up there, but Intel has already released eighth-generation processors. Similarly, the Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti GPU is good, but outclassed by Nvidia’s more powerful cards. And the 15.6-inch display is a somewhat disappointing 1080p panel instead of something higher resolution.

Rounding out the hardware are a 512GB PCIe SSD, 16GB of RAM, and a pair of Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports (in addition to two USB 3.1 Type-A ports), along with an integrated fingerprint sensor that supports Windows Hello.

One highlight is the inclusion of fast-charging technology, something that we don’t usually see on laptops like this. Asus claims that the ZenBook Pro UX550 can charge a low battery up to 60 percent capacity in 49 minutes, which is pretty good, assuming it holds up in real-world use.

Ultimately, the ZenBook Pro UX550 isn’t a bad PC by any measure — especially at $1,699 — but if you’re looking for the latest and greatest hardware, the UX550 isn’t where you’ll find it.
