Trump claims news media turned off cameras at rally as live coverage goes uninterrupted:- President Trump on Tuesday claimed that news outlets covering his rally in Phoenix were turning off cameras and cutting off live coverage of his speech after he criticized the media.

“It’s time to expose the crooked media deceptions, and to challenge the media for their role in fomenting divisions and yes, by the way — and yes, by the way, they are trying to take away our history and our heritage,” he said during his rally.

“Look back there: the live red lights, they’re turning those suckers off fast,” Trump continued. “They’re turning those lights off fast. Like CNN. CNN does not want its falling viewership to watch what I’m saying tonight.”

However, no major news outlet’s coverage of the rally stopped nor were any livestream feeds of the president’s speech cut off, as Trump suggested.

Trump railed against the news media in his fiery campaign-style speech, ripping outlets for their coverage of his administration and his response to violence in Charlottesville, Va. Trump insisted that he sufficiently denounced hate groups after violence erupted during a white nationalist demonstration in the small college town.

The Associated Press reported that several hundred Trump supporters were lined up to enter the rally by 7 p.m., while other pool reporters noted that hundreds had also gathered outside to protest.
