On her latest appearance Lorde talked about her run in with the New York subway system.
“I did get stuck on the F for four hours … sitting on the floor for four hours!” The Singer explained, “All I could think about was that I had a little oatmeal sachet in my bag and I was like, ‘If anyone finds out, this is going to be like, prized commodity.’ It’s going to be like Lost! We’re going to be family now, we’re gonna be here forever.”
Apparently she’s also one of the few people that actually enjoyed taking the subway around the city, telling us that it connects her with the people around her. She even mentioned that the subway was a large influence in writing her album, Melodrama.
“I love the subway … it would help me kind of be around people, because when you’re working in the studio, you’re very isolated and kind of just hang out with a couple people, so I feel like it sort of reintroduced me into society,” She told Seth Meyers.
Though she is an award winning artist, not many people notice her right away, those that did were met with a small plea of silence from Lorde herself.
It seems lately that Lorde has been more comfortable with telling stories of her personal life, especially after withdrawing herself from Hollywood and choosing to stay closer to home with friends and family due to stress.
“I really withdrew myself from being a public person and went home. It is not really very fun, getting your picture taken in the airport,’ She said.
We haven’t seen much of her since her tibuit to David Bowie at last years BRIT awards.
Who can blame her though? After becoming successful so young, it is a lot to put on a anybody’s shoulders.
