USA, Canada and Mexico bid to host 2026 World Cup
USA, Canada and Mexico announced a joint bid for hosting the 2026 World Cup.
The competition will feature as many as 48 national teams for the first times. 48 out of 80 total matches will be held in the group stage, and 32 – in the playoff.
According to the bid, the countries intend for 60 games to be played in USA, while Canada and Mexico will host 10 matches each.
Earlier, England, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Turkey and Azerbaijan, as well as Australia and New Zealand announced their bids to host the World Cup.
The name of winning country/countries will be revealed in 2020.
