Hillary Clinton has urged those involved in the Women March to continue their efforts:- HILLARY Clinton has urged those who took place in the historic women’s marches around the world to maintain the rage, in her first public comments since Donald Trump’s Presidential Inauguration.
In a video recorded for the 2017 Makers conference and posted to YouTube, the former US Secretary of State urged women to “step up and speak out”.
“Despite all the challenges we face, I remain convinced that yes, the future is female,” Mrs Clinton said.
“Just look at the amazing energy we saw last month as women organised a march that galvanised millions of people all over our country and across the world.
“We need strong women to step up and speak out. We need you to dare greatly and lead boldly. So please, set an example for every women and girl out there who’s worried about what the future holds and wonders whether our rights, opportunities and values will endure.”
The Makers conference says it features the largest video collection of women’s stories. Launched in 2012, Makers is a “storytelling platform for the trailblazing women of today and tomorrow”.
According to Mrs Clinton, the theme of this year’s conference is “Be Bold” and she advanced that theme in her video.
“Remember, you are the heroes and history makers, the glass ceiling breakers of the future. As I’ve said before, I’ll say again, never doubt you are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and every opportunity in the world,” she said.
Hundreds of thousands of people joined in the Women’s March on Washington, a day after Ms Clinton’s presidential rival Mr Trump was sworn in as America’s new leader.
At the march, pop icon Madonna said she had “thought an awful lot about blowing up The White House”.
