Woman hiding in police car during airport shooting bitten by startled K-9:- A woman who was running away from the chaos following the shooting at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport was injured when she jumped into a police car with a K-9 inside.
Keyla Concepcion, a spokeswoman with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, said the woman was seeking shelter Friday when she jumped into the car and was bitten by the startled dog. Concepcion didn’t know if the woman was taken to a hospital for treatment, but said, “She was fine.”
“It was minor,” Concepcion said.
Motive of Florida airport killer remains a mystery
The shooting at the airport, which killed five and injured dozens more just before 1 p.m. on Friday, took place inside the baggage claim area of Terminal 2. But shortly afterward, panic erupted inside Terminal 1, about 100 yards away, prompting officials to evacuate that terminal as well and shut down the entire airport for the rest of the day.
