Chandler Riggs Leaving ‘Walking Dead’? His Dad’s Cryptic Message Freaks Fans Out
Whoa. ‘The Walking Dead’ fans dug up an interesting post from Chandler Riggs AKA Carl’s dad on Nov. 17, and it has them nervous that the actor might be ready to bow out of the show! See the message, and fans’ panicked reactions to it, right here.
Chandler Riggs, 17, has been on The Walking Dead since the very beginning, and we’ve watched him grow up on-screen. His dad William was feeling a little sentimental about that on Nov. 17 when he shared a touching message to his son on Facebook.
“7-year contract completed!” he said. “Grateful to AMC, Cast & Crew, TWD fan base and especially Chandler for always being 100% dedicated. Whether it was getting up at 4 AM, working in the cold past 2 AM, leaving his friends and carefree kingdom behind, scrambling to make up missed schoolwork, he has done it without complaint and always made me proud & amazed to be his dad!” Aww so sweet!
We loved seeing his dad get all mushy, but some fans took the “completed” comment and graduation-mosque speech to mean that Chandler’s time as the beloved Carl is coming to a close. However, we wouldn’t start freaking out just yet. Carl hasn’t died in the comics, and starting TV contracts are regularly seven years. He could very easily start a new one, and after Glenn and Abraham’s shocking deaths on the season premiere, we don’t think they’ll take another major character anytime soon, but you never know! Chandler did get accepted to Auburn College on Nov. 6, as he revealed to thrilled fans in a tweet. Maybe he is ready to move on and focus on his education, and we couldn’t blame him.
Plenty of fans has their concerns, rushing to Twitter to demand answers from Chandler.
