Trump projected to win Florida

Trump projected to win Florida:- Donald Trump was projected to win the state of Florida, according to the Associated Press.

Despite fears earlier in the night about a 2000 campaign redux, Trump pulled out a win in the always unpredictable purple state.

The Clinton campaign tried hard to turn out Latino voters in the state and was successful in doing so in early voting, but Trump overperformed with white voters in exurbs and rural areas. As colleague Philip Bump explained, Trump did better in several counties than Mitt Romney did in 2012.

The win there by Trump was a blow to the Clinton campaign, which considered Florida a priority in calculating its path to 270. Clinton visited the state over the weekend and the campaign dispatched President Obama there twice to boost their chances, but his popularity — he won the state twice — did not translate to her.
