3TB sounds good, but it took $30 in software to make more than 700GB available. I used Paragon software. Once, a few weeks after partitioning it into two 1.3GB volumes (split the disk evenly), one volume vaporized, and I had to reformat/repartition it. If I hadn't been using it just for backup, I would have lost a lot of data.
