OVERVIEW
The Utah Chapter, Parents of Murdered Children, Inc, Board Members and volunteers invite survivors of homicide and the general public to attend the 2009 National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims. The event will be held inside the International Peace Gardens, 1060 South 900 West, Salt Lake City, Utah on September 26, 2009 from 6-8 pm. A memorial program will include music, a Master of Ceremonies, Keynote address by Dr. Steven A. Bell, Phd. (a survivor of homicide). There will be a reading of the Proclamation, and a Reading of names of Homicide victims. Two community awards will be given for outstanding commitment to the organization. A moment of silence along with lighting candles, and a memorial video with music will conclude the program. The general public is invited to attend to support the memories of our loved ones who were victims of homicide. Everyone is encouraged to bring a blanket or chair to sit on. Free parking is available inside and around the park areas. The event is free to the public. We will be selling raffle tickets for a quilt, and having the quilt drawing during the event. One does not have to be present for the drawing.
