"I have taken on an incredible challenge. On October 11-13, 2013, I'll be walking 60 miles over the course of three days, camping out at night with thousands of other women and men taking this journey with me. It's for an event called the Susan G. Komen 3-Dayâ„¢. Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds raised by the Komen 3-Day help fund national research and large public health outreach programs. The remaining 25 percent helps fund local community and Affiliate support and outreach programs. No breast cancer organization provides more support and care than Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Virtually every major advance in the fight against breast cancer in the last 30 years has been impacted by a Komen grant, and millions of women rely on Susan G. Komen every day. These women need our help more than ever to safeguard Komen’s great work in our local communities for another 30 years. Komen works hard to build a future without breast cancer, and I plan on raising $2,300 to help bring us closer to that goal. Please consider making a donation of $35.
