Using Mo’s own CAT in WATER project as a case study, you’ll discover tips for finding and approaching funding sources and key elements for growing interest and support for your project. Mo will discuss approaching potential sponsors, crowd sourcing and how to turn your passion into contagious excitement. Join Mo for a lively discussion on what works, what doesn’t work and what strategic steps are necessary to gain the funding required to make a project come to fruition. This seminar is presented as a benefit of CPAC membership Photographer and filmmaker Morgan Heim uses the power of visual storytelling to help raise the social standing of our planet’s more controversial, misunderstood or under-appreciated critters. With a background in zoology (BS) and environmental journalism (MA), she employs photographic techniques ranging from aerials to camera traps, photojournalism and film on her mission to share stories that matter. Morgan is an Associate Fellow with the International League of Conservation Photographers, (iLCP), and her work has appeared in such outlets as Smithsonian, National Parks, National Geographic NewsWatch, and BBC Wildlife. Her flagship project, CAT in WATER, is a quest to share the stories of the endangered fishing cats of Thailand, a cat that loves water, barks like a dog and is threatened by demand for America’s most popular seafood, shrimp.
