Disney�s My Son Pinocchio, Jr. Audition dates: Tuesday, September 23 and Wednesday, September 24 at 7:15 pm Location: Woodland Opera House at 340 4th Street Seeking actors aged 8 through 18 to audition. New life is given to the classic tale of toymaker Geppetto and his little wooden puppet. This musical retells the classic Disney story from Geppetto�s perspective, features the beloved classic songs �When You Wish upon a Star� and �I�ve Got No Strings,� along with new songs by Oscar- and Grammy Award-winner Stephen Schwartz, tackling timely issues about what it means to be �the perfect child� � and what it means to be �a real father.� Auditions: Please come with 16 to 32 bars from a prepared song and the sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothes and proper footwear for the movement/dance portion of the audition. The show will begin rehearsals early to mid-October with short breaks through Thanksgiving and Christmas. The show runs January 9th through 25th (Fridays at 7:30pm and Saturday/Sunday at 2pm) along with a mandatory school outreach performance day on Thursday, January 15th at 9:30am and 12:30pm. Vocal range G3 - E5 required Sue - a not so sweet and only marginally helpful fairy in training. Same vocal range as other fairies The Blue Fairy - a senior fairy with a perfect wish granting track record. Good comedic instincts are needed. Vocal range G3 - E5. Geppetto - a lonely toy maker who wishes to become a father. Vocal range is Bb3 - F5. Pinocchio - a wooden puppet with lively personality who becomes Geppetto�s son. Vocal range is G3 - E5. Stromboli - Stromboli is a bumbling, loud, incompetent puppeteer who is likely missing several marbles. Versatile, over-the-top acting is required. Stromboli�s songs are challenging. Vocal range is Bb3 - F5. Professore Buonragazzo - the nutty inventor of a perfect child-making machine. Vocal range is Bb3 - C#4. Junior - Junior is Professore Buonragazzo�s mirror image assistant. The actor will need to mimic the performer playing the Professor. A short solo is required. Vocal range is Bb3 - C#4. Ringleader - the ruler of Pleasure Island. Vocal range is A3 - E5. Village children, animals (Gepetto�s voices of reason in disguise), roustabouts (who are comfortable turning into donkeys), marionettes, and teen actors to play parents are also needed for multiple roles.
