James Harden slaps away phone of Utah Jazz fan who was heckling him<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Soon-to-be league MVP James Harden on Wednesday night became the latest NBA player to have a tense interaction with a fan.<\/span><\/p>\n

During Game 2 of his Houston Rockets’ Western Conference semifinal series with the Utah Jazz, Harden was caught on video slapping away a phone that was being held by a fan who was heckling him.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a video posted on Facebook by Jazz fan Jason Glad, Glad can be heard saying, “You’re still the worst flopper in the NBA,” as Harden emerged from Houston’s Toyota Center tunnel. Harden then stared directly at Glad and reached out and hit his phone before continuing to the court.<\/span><\/p>\n

But this wasn’t the only incident between the two.<\/span><\/p>\n

As the Rockets went to the locker room at halftime, Harden lunged at Glad, who appeared to be recording him and yelling in his face. Glad was then pushed away by Rockets center Nene before being approached by security.<\/span><\/p>\n

The incidents come just a few days after Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook had multiple heated exchanges with Jazz fans during his team’s first-round series loss.<\/span><\/p>\n

Westbrook, who was seen swiping in the direction of one fan and shouting expletives in the direction of another during Game 6 in Utah, had some strong words for Jazz fans afterward.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I don’t confront fans, fans confront me,” Westbrook said. “Here in Utah, man, a lot of disrespectful, vulgar things are said to the players here with these fans. It’s truly disrespectful. (They) talk about your families, your kids. It’s just a disrespect to the game and I think it’s something that needs to be brought up.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n“I’m tired of just going out and playing and letting fans say what the hell they want to say. I’m not with that. If I was on the street, they wouldn’t just come up to me and say anything crazy, because I don’t play that (expletive).”<\/span><\/p>\n

On Tuesday night, rapper and Toronto Raptors brand ambassador Drake got into it with Cleveland Cavaliers reserve center Kendrick Perkins, raising a question: Are fans taking heckling too far?<\/span><\/p>\n

As for Harden, he may have a fine coming his way. In January, Cavaliers guard Rodney Hood (who, coincidentally, played for the Jazz at the time) was fined $35,000 for smacking a fan’s phone out of his hand and onto the ground.<\/span><\/p>\n
