That&#8217;s not me<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">NBC News\u2019 Chuck Todd was called out for hypocrisy regarding conflicts of interest during an appearance on WABC\u2019s \u201cBernie &amp; Sid\u201d radio show on Friday morning, but the \u201cMeet the Press\u201d moderator doesn\u2019t seem to think his wife\u2019s conflicts should stick to him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Todd has been vocal about his disagreement over how Fox News handled mainstream media outrage over Sean Hannity\u2019s relationship with Trump attorney Michael Cohen. However, political commentator Jeffrey Lord has chronicled conflicts of interest surrounding Todd and his wife, who is a Democratic political consultant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Radio hosts Sid Rosenberg and Bernie McGuirk started their chat with Todd by admitting their friendship with Hannity, which resulted in the \u201cMeet the Press\u201d moderator claiming his beef was with Fox News for not forcing Hannity to explain his relationship with Cohen whenever the subject comes up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">\u201cJust in the same way that any time that I\u2019ve interviewed somebody that my wife has professionally worked for, I let people know,\u201d Todd said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">McGuirk fired back, \u201cSome say you haven\u2019t done that all the time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Todd claimed that anyone who would accuse him of not disclosing relationships didn\u2019t do the proper research. It\u2019s safe to assume he was referring to Lord, who penned a story earlier Friday for The American Spectator pointing out Todd\u2019s potential conflicts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">According to Lord, Kristian Todd, who is married to Chuck, worked with Jim Webb on a 2006 Senate campaign in Virginia, though the relationship wasn\u2019t mentioned when Webb appeared on \u201cMeet the Press\u201d in 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Lord also pointed out that the NBC News star\u2019s wife also donated to 2016 Democratic vice-presidential nominee Tim Kaine, and that her company received millions from the Bernie Sanders campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">\u201cTodd never felt any need to disclose this during his three recent Kaine interviews on NBC,\u201d Lord wrote. \u201cTodd has never disclosed this business relationship in 11 Sanders interviews this year.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Rosenberg and McGuirk tried to explain to Todd that he sounded like a hypocrite because of the conflicts surrounding his wife. Todd claimed that NBC was aware of the relationship while playing down the significance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">\u201cThat\u2019s my wife. That\u2019s not me,\u201d Todd said. \u201cI think it\u2019s a ridiculous place that we\u2019re in in society that it\u2019s guilt by association.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Todd said that his wife \u201cdidn\u2019t sign up to work at NBC\u201d and they can disagree on political issues without it impacting his job performance.
