Formalin is highly toxic if ingested, and just one ounce can kill an adult.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Hospital staff realized the mistake two minutes later and tried to wash out the formalin, but it was too late \u2013 the embalming fluid was already making its way through her body.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">\u201cMom, I\u2019m dying,\u201d Fedyaeva later told her mother, who thought she wasn\u2019t being serious at the time, according to RT. Fedyaeva was rushed to Moscow\u2019s A.I. Burnazyan Federal Medical and Biophysical Center where doctors administered multiple drugs in an attempt to counteract the formalin, according to Tass, but they were unable to save her.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">At one point, doctors brought her to back to consciousness and Fedyaeva\u2019s mother said she opened her eyes and whispered to her, according to RT. In the end, however, Fedyaeva\u2019s organs started to shut down and she died Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">News of the horrific death quickly spread, and headlines about a woman being \u201cembalmed alive\u201d soon appeared on international news sites.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">The minister of health, family and social well-being in Ulyanovsk, Rashid Abdullov, expressed \u201csincere condolences\u201d to Fedyaeva\u2019s family.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Abdullov said the mix-up at the hospital happened because the medical staff \u201cdid not read the name on the vial,\u201d according to RT.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">\u201cWe will provide all the necessary assistance to the family.
