It shot just 37.8 percent from the field against Orlando and got outscored 31-17 in the fourth quarter, but found a way to close it out down the stretch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">\u201cIt wasn\u2019t pretty,\u201d coach Brad Stevens said. \u201cWe obviously didn\u2019t make a ton of shots, but our defense was pretty darn good.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Al Horford had 15 points and Abdel Nader scored 11 for Boston, which made just one field goal in the final 7:33 of the game. Horford also had nine rebounds, helping the Celtics to a 55-40 advantage on the glass and 20 second-chance points<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">\u201cThere were a lot of rebounds to be had so that\u2019s probably a good that we got a couple of them,\u201d Stevens said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Orlando lost for the sixth time in seven games. Reserve Shelvin Mack scored 13 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter. Jonathon Simmons and D.J. Augustin had 13 apiece.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">\u201cThe disappointing thing about this game is that we forced a ton of misses, but we didn\u2019t finish possessions,\u201d Orlando coach Frank Vogel said. \u201cThey shoot a ton of 3s with a lot of long rebounds and we talked about not getting caught under the rim and having the ball bounce over our heads, but that happened a number of times.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Orlando had its own shooting problems. The Magic, who made 18 3-pointers in a win over Milwaukee on Wednesday, went 5 for 28 from beyond the arc, compared to 9 for 26 for the Celtics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">\u201cWe just had a poor night shooting inside and out,\u201d Vogel said. \u201cClearly we didn\u2019t have the legs to finish shots and that was evident both in our finishing at the rim and with our perimeter shooting.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Boston opened a 24-point lead early in the second half. Rozier hit a pair of 3-pointers and Monroe overpowered Nikola Vucevic for another driving layup to make it 62-38 with 5:25 left in the third quarter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">The Magic cut the deficit to 14 against Celtics reserves early in the fourth quarter and Stevens put his starters back in for the last nine minutes of the game. They managed just two field goals the rest of the way, but it was still enough to hold off Orlando.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">The closest the Magic could get was 90-83 on a driving layup by Mack with 41 seconds to play.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">TIP-INS<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Celtics: Boston\u2019s starting five was a combined 20 of 62 from the field. \u2026 Marcus Morris had 11 rebounds, but was just 4 of 15 from the field. \u2026 F Jaylen Brown missed his third straight game with a concussion. \u2026 PG Kyrie Erving was sidelined by a sore left knee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Magic: PF Aaron Gordon could not pass the final stage of the NBA\u2019s concussion protocol and missed his fifth straight game. Gordon says he wants to play and the team appealed the decision to the league. \u2026 PG D.J.
