Well, a nasty surprise in iOS 11.2.6 is taking it to a whole new level&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">\u2018Great Secret Features\u2019 and \u2018Nasty Surprises\u2019 are my regular columns investigating the best features \/ biggest problems hidden behind the headlines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">With battery life and overall battery longevity continuing to dominate the iOS 11 narrative, it seems the rushed release of iOS 11.2.6 wants to solve Apple\u2019s problems itself: a glitch removes the battery indicator.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Yes, affected users are speaking out on social media and chat forums (and in some cases sharing screenshots 1, 2, 3) after finding iOS 11.2.6 removes the battery life icon in the top right corner of the screen. And along with it any easy way of checking the charge level of their iPhone or iPad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Interestingly some users find the battery indicator can still be seen when opening the settings menu, while others are forced to navigate to Settings &gt; Battery just to see their charge status.
