Nest operated on its own as part of the establishment in 2015 of holding company Alphabet, which also explored selling the firm in 2016, Reuters reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Alphabet has not taken impairment charges in the last three years on its acquisitions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Nest device sales represented a big chunk of revenue for Alphabet\u2019s \u201cOther Bets\u201d division, which brought in $1.2 billion last year.
