Tom Brady to wife Gisele B\u00fcndchen: ‘Two more Super Bowls’<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

\u201cTwo more Super Bowls,\u2019\u2019 he said with a smile before the 2017 NFL season in a moment captured for the latest episode of Facebook docu-series called Tom vs. Time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gulp. That could happen as early as 2019 for the New England Patriots quarterback, who will lead his team into a matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at Super Bowl LII.<\/span><\/p>\n

But there\u2019s probably no reason for Patriots\u2019 fans to fear the 40-year-old Brady might be closer to retirement than expected considering Brady has indicated he would like to play until he is 45.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe can have as many Super Bowls as he likes,\u2019\u2019 Gisele said as the filmmaker captured the celebrity couple for episode No. 5, which was shown Friday at an exclusive screening and will be available to watch Sunday on Facebook.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier in the scene, Gisele smiled while recalling that in 2006 Brady told her he would play only 10 more seasons. No such luck, with her husband now in his 18th season and preparing for his eighth Super Bowl, and, if episode No. 5 of Tom vs. Time is a good indicator, has picked no date for a retirement party.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYour first love\u2019s your first love,\u2019\u2019 Brady said of football as the episode came to a close. \u201cAnd I want to keep doing it because I think I can. \u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the day comes when I feel like I can\u2019t do it anymore, whether even physically, which I doubt, or more mentally that I won\u2019t be able to, you know, give what I need to to the other parts of my life, I\u2019ll say it\u2019s enough. But it\u2019s not going to be for a while, though.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Gotham Chopra, the filmmaker, said he spent about five years trying to talk Brady into such a project. His efforts went nowhere until April, according Chopra, who recalled what Brady said when Brady called out of the blue, predicted success for the 2017 season and said he was ready for the project.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to do it all,\u2019\u2019 Chopra, son of self-improvement guru Deepak Chopra, said Brady told him of playing in the NFL at the age of 40. \u201cI\u2019m going to show everybody how.\u2019\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

The first five episodes of the six-episodes series take viewers where few have been before with Brady \u2014 behind the scenes. The episodes are full of intimate moments showing Brady interacting with his three children, his wife, teammates and his personal trainer.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was unprecedented for a quarterback who has protected his private life as closely as he might protect his playbook.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPeople ask me all the time, \u2018What surprises you most?\u2019 \u201d Chopra said of the access and openness. \u201cAll of it.\u2019\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

As Brady is captured saying at one point during episode No. 5, \u201cWhen I\u2019m out on the field in front of 70,000 people, I can really be who I am, with my raw emotion and my energy and if I want to scream at somebody, I can scream at somebody. That\u2019s why I probably love football so much. Because it allows me to be who I am in a very authentic way that\u2019s hard for me to be when I walk off the field.\u2019\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

During the docu-series, Brady comes across as open and candid.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAre there times I\u2019m frustrated, that I feel things are said about me that I wish I could defend? Yeah,\u2019\u2019 he said. \u201cBut I don\u2019t want to go into that mud everyday. Because I know that once I engage I\u2019ll have to re-engage, and I don\u2019t like fighting.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThat creates inner conflict in me. That\u2019s why I do need to protect myself. If I\u2019m putting all my energy out in all these other places, 20 different areas, then I won\u2019t get to be who I want to be.\u2019\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

In search of yet more Super Bowls \u2014 again, two more he told his wife before the season \u2014 Brady said he is not motivated to satisfy others.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s to satisfy myself,\u2019\u2019 he said. \u201cAnd if I\u2019m satisfied with myself, I’m good. I really am. I feel good.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to live a very purposeful life. I want to create change and positivity and \u2026 and I want to do that being who I am.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
