Three men shot outside Midtown liquor store, sending tourists fleeing<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

A gunman opened fire on a rival in the shadow of the Empire State Building on Sunday, hitting his target and two bystanders \u2014 one a tourist, cops said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The shooter and a buddy were walking along W. 31st St. toward Fifth Ave. and were outside the Herald Square Spirits wine and liquor store at about 4:40 p.m. when they started arguing with an acquaintance behind them, cop sources said.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the men then spun around and started blasting indiscriminately, wounding the subject of his wrath \u2014 and two other men, one a Romanian tourist leaving the liquor store, sources said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The gunfire sent pedestrians and tourists scrambling.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sources identified the victims as Abdoulaye Kane, 25; Ahmend Kabia, 43, and Adrian Burduja, 29.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kane was hit in the left arm and Kabia in the right shoulder, sources said. Burduja, of Romania, was shot in the back, sources said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Medics took all three to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was staying at that hotel right there, so that’s frightening, I could have been right there. This is scary,\u201d said Jo Serrara, 25, a tourist from Detroit staying at the Life Hotel across the street. \u201cBut unfortunately I’m not surprised. I feel like something like this happens every day, it doesn’t matter where you are.”<\/span><\/p>\n

David Markovich, 28, who lives around the corner, said he was waking to his favorite vape store on W. 31st St. when he came across a large crowd, then saw the three men on the ground.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOne of them looked pretty bad. It looked like he was shot in his stomach and there was blood coming from his stomach all over the ground,\u201d Markovich said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the guys seemed like he was just riding his bike and he got hit because he was next to a bike that was fallen on the ground.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Another neighborhood resident said she regularly walks her beagle in the area and hasn\u2019t seen any violence.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSomething like this has never happened here. I’ve lived here about four years. And that’s a very nice liquor store, it’s very upscale,\u201d said the woman, who didn\u2019t give her name. \u201cBut there’s a bus terminal on that side of the street. That bus terminal changes the dynamic of the neighborhood.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Police were searching for two men who ran immediately after the shooting. One is described as black and 5-foot-10. He wore all black and a face mask. The other is black, 6 feet tall and wore a camel jacket, light blue jeans, white and red checkered Nike sneakers and a red skull cap.<\/span><\/p>\n
