{"id":56222,"date":"2018-01-08T05:21:47","date_gmt":"2018-01-08T05:21:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biphoo.com\/bipnews\/?p=56222"},"modified":"2018-01-08T05:21:47","modified_gmt":"2018-01-08T05:21:47","slug":"florida-man-michael-lester-allegedly-calls-911-to-report-himself-drink-driving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biphoo.com\/bipnews\/news\/florida-man-michael-lester-allegedly-calls-911-to-report-himself-drink-driving.html","title":{"rendered":"Florida man Michael Lester allegedly calls 911 to report himself drink driving"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Florida man Michael Lester allegedly calls 911 to report himself drink driving<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">US authorities have been left stunned after a man called 911 to report a drunk driver \u2014 himself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Polk County Sheriff\u2019s officials in Florida have released the details of a call Michael Lester allegedly made to 911 on New Year\u2019s Eve in which he admitted he was too drunk to be behind the wheel and was \u201cdriving around trying to get pulled over actually\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">\u201cI\u2019m too drunk, I don\u2019t know where I\u2019m at,\u201d he continued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">LISTEN TO THE AUDIO IN THE PLAYER ABOVE<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">In speaking to the dispatcher Lester also said he has slept only four hours in four days and had swallowed methamphetamine instead of smoking it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">The female dispatcher kept Lester, who has an extensive criminal history, on the line as she directed police officers to where he was.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">She repeatedly urged him to pull over and wait for police to find him. He eventually but not as expected.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">\u201cLook, I\u2019m parked in the middle of the road,\u201d he said<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Lester refused to give the dispatcher his full name before he eventually hung up on the call. Before he did sirens could be heard wailing down the line.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">According to the Polk County Sheriff\u2019s Office Facebook page Lester\u2019s criminal history included previous drink driving convictions, and other convictions for aggravated battery, drug possession and hit and run.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">\u201cDriving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is a serious crime,\u201d a post on the Facebook page read.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">\u201cInnocent people are too often injured or killed from impaired drivers.
