China told to \u2018MOBILISE ITS DEFENCES\u2019 for war with North Korea \u2018at any time\u2019<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

CHINA has been told to \u201cmobilise its defences\u201d for war with North Korea at any time, a Beijing advisor has declared.<\/span><\/p>\n

During a conference in the country\u2019s capital on escalating tensions with the hermit kingdom, Wang Hongguang, stated that the Asian superpower should ready its military for World War 3.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said: “It is a highly dangerous period.<\/span><\/p>\n

“China should mobilise its defences for war.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr Wang was backed by China\u2019s executive-level State Council cabinet advisor Shi Yinhong who stated that \u201cNorth Korea is a time bomb\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

He added: “We can only delay the explosion, hoping that by delaying it, a time will come to remove the detonator.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Conditions on the peninsula now make for the biggest risk of a war in decades.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Shi Yinhong explained that the time for preventing an all-out war with Kim Jong-un has passed.<\/span><\/p>\n

China has long been referred to as the solution to tension on the Korean peninsula – Beijing is the country\u2019s sole ally and accounts for most of its trade.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, Chinese foreign ministry senior fellow Yang Xiyu believes China\u2019s grip on the situation is slipping, citing the country as having \u201cno control on the issue\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

He stated: “No matter whether there is war or peace, regretfully, China has no control, dominance or even a voice on the issue.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Zhu Feng, a professor at Nanjing University, piled on fears of World War 3 during the conference by demanding that Chinese President Xi Jinping prepare for \u201ca catastrophic nuclear conflict, nuclear fallout or a nuclear explosion\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

He continued: “Why do we always act like ostriches?<\/span><\/p>\n

“Why do we always believe a war won’t occur?”<\/span><\/p>\n

As China soaks up criticism for its approach towards North Korea, an associate professor of political science at Temple University in Japan has stated that Russia\u2019s recent chastising of US foreign policy against Kim Jong-un may lead to a change of approach from Donald Trump.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr James Brown said: “President Putin really gave quite strong criticism of the US position, indeed saying that the US had provoked North Korea’s actions. Many people are coming around to the view that that’s essentially correct.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cUS policy of maximum pressure on North Korea has clearly not led to the results they were looking for.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe hope that North Korea could be persuaded to turn toward denuclearisation has not happened.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cInstead, North Korea has been incentivised to try and gain full nuclear capabilities as quickly as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s difficult to know the exact US position, because there’s been a lack of clarity on this. But this does seem to indicate that the White House is willing to cooperate on the issue, and it may even be coming around to Russia’s position.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
