He was initially treated on the scene before being taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, AZ Central reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Police Chief Terry McDonald confirmed Lazinsky\u2019s death, calling it \u201cabsolutely tragic,\u201d the outlet said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">The suspect, who officials said was caught, could potentially face charges in the officer\u2019s death but McDonald said that was not yet determined, according to AZ Central.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Lazinsky was a 17-year veteran of the El Mirage Police Department and was expected to retire in ten months, ABC 15 reported.
