South Korea quaking North Korea \u2018will FIRE more missiles in bid to survive\u2019<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

South Korea quaking North Korea \u2018will FIRE more missiles in bid to survive\u2019:- The country\u2019s defence ministry said that nuclear tests are part of the despot leader\u2019s plot to maintain a stranglehold over his people during a time the nation is plagued with sanctions.<\/span><\/p>\n

During South Korea\u2019s end-of-year meeting today, defence minister Song Young-moo claimed the nation has maintained a \u201cwatertight\u201d defensive stance over its aggressive neighbour.<\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting involved over 150 senior commanders from across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year has seen six nuclear tests and 15 ballistic missile launches from the isolationist state.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the US and North Korea moving closer than ever to World War 3 after Kim Jong-un\u2019s most powerful missile test last week, the defence minister claimed further provocations are inbound.<\/span><\/p>\n

South Korea also warned of a tactical escalation from its neighbour that could see it cross the Northern Limit Line, an artillery attack or a hacking operation.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic games on the horizon, South Korea reiterated its commitment to ensuring a successful hosting of the global event.<\/span><\/p>\n

It appears the defence and security at the upcoming Olympics are also top concerns for the US after its ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, said it remains an \u201copen question\u201d whether to send athletes to the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are concerns that safety of US participants in the games could be at risk if they attend because of the threats of war from Kim Jong-un\u2019s communist state.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ambassador said that President Donald Trump and his administration were still working on trying to \u201cfind out the best way\u201d to make sure that athletes safety was protected during the international event.<\/span><\/p>\n

She said: \u201cThis is a perfect opportunity for all of them to go and do something they have worked so hard for.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we will do is, we will make sure that we’re taking every precaution possible to make sure that they’re safe and to know everything that’s going on around them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

However, she added the US was still looking at whether it was safe to attend the games given the instability surrounding the region given the close proximity of the Olympics to North Korea.<\/span><\/p>\n

Asked whether she could guarantee the US\u2019s attendance, she said: \u201cThere’s an open question.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI have not heard anything about that, but I do know in the talks that we have — whether it’s Jerusalem or North Korea — it’s about, how do we protect the US citizens in the area?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The games will take place between Feb 9 and 25.<\/span><\/p>\n
