The end result: \u201cexpect devices capable of delivering better performance on lower power consumption.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">&#8220;Based on Apple&#8217;s current plan, they are set to replace partially, or around half of its power management chips to go into iPhones by itself starting next year,&#8221; said the first Nikkei source.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Nikkei\u2019s second source confirmed Apple is \u201cindeed developing its own power management chips for iPhones\u201d but was unable to put a time frame on the project saying it was possible the technology could delayed until 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Either way financial markets are taking this news very seriously.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">On the publication of Nikkei\u2019s report shares in Dialog, Apple\u2019s current power management chip maker, fell by almost 20%. In 2016 Apple accounted for 74% of Dialog\u2019s revenue so investors are understandably worried. Especially since suppliers Apple cut out in the past were hit so badly some either sold up or went out of business.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Of course for customers what is far more important than stock prices is how long their iPhone lasts on a charge.
