For anyone unaware, Sony has updated its Sony Rewards program so that gamers can earn points by unlocking trophies in games, which then convert into PlayStation Store cash. Enthusiasm for this update to the Sony Rewards program has seen its website crash from overwhelming traffic (and it’s still not easily accessible at the time of this writing), but there is one big catch that fans need to know about before they get too excited.

Only trophies earned after the Sony Rewards program update went into effect count. So the years fans have spent earning silver, gold, and platinum trophies in game won’t translate into any PlayStation Store cash. With the massive flood of people rushing to sign up for the Sony Rewards program, it’s safe to say that at least some of them were unaware of this rather big catch.

Another catch is that only PlayStation gamers in the United States can trade their trophies for cash. Sony hasn’t said if it plans on expanding the program to areas outside the US, though that seems like a distinct possibility considering its popularity.

While these drawbacks will certainly leave some fans disappointed, it’s better than not having it in place at all. Hardcore gamers that strive to collect every trophy will now be rewarded for their efforts beyond a digital trophy, and will even be able to turn their hard work into free games.

And when we say hard work, we mean hard work. To earn 1,000 points, which is good for just $10 in PlayStation Store credit, players will have to earn 10 shiny new platinum trophies. 25 gold trophies equate to 250 points, and 100 silver trophies will convert into a mere 100 points. Bronze trophies, meanwhile, aren’t worth anything in the Sony Rewards program.

It’s unlikely that this new program will result in many gamers actually earning free games on a regular basis. But it’s better than nothing, and PlayStation gamers might as well sign up for the program – once the website starts working again, that is.

Source:- https://gamerant.com/playstation-trophies-money-catch/

PlayStation Trophies for Money Program Has A Big Catch PlayStation Trophies for Money Program Has A Big Catch:- It’s clear that PlayStation fans are excited about Sony’s recent changes to its Sony Rewards program.
