style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">NORTH KOREA leader Kim Jong-un will face \u201coverwhelming\u201d power from Donald Trump and \u201call options are on the table\u201d, the US Vice President has warned as tensions continue to ramp up on the Korean peninsula.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">North Korea and its dictator Kim Jong-un will be up against Donald Trump who will defend the United States with \u201ceffective military power\u201d if forced, according to Mike Pence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">It comes as North Korea has been ramping up its missile technology with regular rocket tests, including two intercontinental ballistic missiles launches and its sixth nuclear bomb detonation earlier this year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Speaking at Minot Air Force Base, in North Dakota, Donald Trump\u2019s right hand man, warned North Korea to \u201cnever doubt the capabilities\u201d of his nation\u2019s Armed Forces.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">He said: \u201cWhile President Trump has made clear that the United States has, in his words, \u2018great strength and patience\u2019, all options are on the table.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">\u201dOur enemies should never doubt the capabilities of the Armed Forces of the United States of America.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">\u201cAnyone who would threaten our nation should know that America always seeks peace, but if we are forced to defend ourselves or our allies, we will do so with military power that is effective and overwhelming.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">His remarks echoed the US Defence Secretary Jim Mattis, who warned North Korea should prepare for a US onslaught if it continues to escalate its war rhetoric.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">The threat was issued by Mr Mattis after a visit to the demilitarised zone (DMZ) on the Korean border.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">And while he said the US did not want to go to war with Kim Jong-un\u2019s hermit state, he issued a clear military threat to the despot amid growing rumours of an imminent seventh nuclear test.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">The Defence Secretary said: \u201cNorth Korea provocations continue to threaten regional and world peace, and despite the unanimous condemnation by the United Nations Security Council, they still proceed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">\u201cAs the US Secretary of State has made clear, our goal is not war, but rather the complete verifiable and irreversible denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:
