{"id":49638,"date":"2017-10-30T06:19:31","date_gmt":"2017-10-30T06:19:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biphoo.com\/bipnews\/?p=49638"},"modified":"2017-10-30T06:19:31","modified_gmt":"2017-10-30T06:19:31","slug":"north-korea-hit-mainland-us-operational-nuke-next-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biphoo.com\/bipnews\/news\/north-korea-hit-mainland-us-operational-nuke-next-year.html","title":{"rendered":"North Korea could hit mainland US with operational NUKE by next year"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">North Korea could hit mainland US with operational NUKE by next year<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">North Korea could hit mainland US with operational NUKE by next year:- North Korea has been conducting a series of missile tests, the first on July 4 and again on July 28.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">There has been speculation as to whether the rogue state had developed the capability of a re-entry vehicle for the nuclear warhead that can withstand the temperatures of Earth\u2019s atmosphere as it re-enters the planet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">According to senior intelligence analyst for ballistic missiles at the Air and Space Intelligence Centre, Tom Boyd, North Korea is on the cusp of developing the technology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">When asked how long it will take for North Korea to really threaten the US homeland he said: \u201cProbably several more flight tests, but ultimately if they want to have confidence that the system works as intended they have to flight test it and prove that reentry vehicle can survive realistic reentry conditions.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">US intelligence also estimates that could happen as early as next year due to the rate of the nuclear tests.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">The rogue state cannot attack the US with a nuclear weapon until it develops the re-entry vehicle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">But, Mr Boyd said it is \u201cinevitable\u201d that the hermit kingdom will develop the technology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">He said: \u201cIf you are not willing to fail in the ballistic missile or space launch vehicle missiles business, you&#8217;re in the wrong business\u2026 It&#8217;s almost inevitable, these are highly complex systems, and failures are pretty much inevitable.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">The North Korea\u2019s ICBM is called the \u201cHwasong\u201d, which translates as Mars, the Roman God of War.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">The Pentagon says it is confident its missile defence system of 42 interceptors based in Alaska and California can shoot down a North Korean ICBM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">But, the test record only shows a 55 per cent success rate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Last May it shot down a mock North Korean missile which was designed from models by the Air and Space Intelligence Centre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Mr Boyd has described them as a \u201cchallenging target\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">He added: \u201cThey&#8217;ve been referred to as the ultimate weapon. They get to the target very quickly.
