North Korea cannot be HALTED after boom in sophisticated missile production:- NORTH Korea\u2019s expanding missile programme \u201ccannot be halted\u201d as the country may be producing its own rocket fuel, it has been claimed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Newly analysed photos of North Korean factories point to signs that the country is producing its own Unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (UDMH), a fuel used in rockets.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shea Cotton, a Research Associate at California\u2019s James Martin Centre, said: \u201cThe thing with UDMH production is that the production facilities required to make it look a lot any other chemical production facility.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSo it\u2019s hard to know if you\u2019ve found one just by looking at satellite pictures.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe pictures point to a few potential sights.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt just means that they have the means to produce their own rocket fuel, and probably a lot of it too.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt also means we won\u2019t be able to halt their program just by turning off the spigot.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe unfortunate truth this program is that it\u2019s a very sophisticated program which the North Koreans have laboured over for years now.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve meticulously built up their production capacity and are constantly improving their program.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere isn\u2019t an easy fix for this program and the existence of facilities like this proves it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The report, written by Joseph Bermudez Jr, analyses the possibility of the hermit kingdom producing UDMH based on a series of ariel photos.<\/span><\/p>\n

North Korea\u2019s February 8 Vinalon Complex in Hungnam has been identified as a potential facility for producing the rocket fuel.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr Bermudez explained that the area \u201ccontains production lines for both chlorine and ammonia, chemicals used in the production of hydrazine, the presence of waste water ponds, and recent construction activities within the complex\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

The July 27 Factory in the state was spotted as another potential area for UDMH production.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bermudez added: \u201cThese requirements for UDMH were likely initially satisfied by acquisition of limited quantities from abroad.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIncreasing demands during the past 10 years, however, have likely led to both the acquisition of additional quantities of UDMH where possible and the acquisition or development of technology.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

North Korea has increased its development of Hwasong-12 IRBM and Hwasong-14 ICBM missiles that use the UDMH fuel, which combined with tightening world sanctions, have pushed the hermit kingdom to start developing its own rocket fuel.<\/span><\/p>\n

With global tensions reaching critical levels, the US has called on China to increase its stranglehold on the rogue state in a bid to diffuse World War 3.<\/span><\/p>\n

Donald Trump is set to work with China to rein in despot leader Kim Jong-un when he visits China next month.<\/span><\/p>\n

Isolating North Korea further over its nuclear and ballistic missile tests is a key goal for the President on what will be his longest foreign trip to date.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trump will call on President Xi Jinping to fully implement UN Security Council resolutions against Pyongyang and take other steps to pressure North Korea.<\/span><\/p>\n

China, North Korea’s sole major ally, accounts for more than 90 percent of trade with the isolated country.<\/span><\/p>\n

China has said it will strictly enforce UN Security Council sanctions banning imports of coal, textiles and seafood while cutting off oil shipments to the rogue nation.<\/span><\/p>\n

But a senior White House official who briefed reporters ahead of President Trump’s Asia tour said China needs to do more to comply with two UN Security Council resolutions that were approved unanimously, including with China’s support.<\/span><\/p>\n

The official said: \u201cWe would like to see China follow through on those commitments. We would like to see China do things bilaterally as well that might even go beyond things that are mandated by those UN Security Council resolutions.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
