US fires ominous warning to North Korea \u2013 ‘We’re ready to fight TONIGHT’<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

US fires ominous warning to North Korea \u2013 ‘We’re ready to fight TONIGHT’:- In a show of strength against Kim\u2019s regime, US and South Korean commanders met onboard the flagship of the US Seventh Fleet today to warn the despot they are ready to \u201cfight tonight\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

The warning comes during an \u201cunprecedentedly grave security situation\u201d on the Korean Peninsula as the allies wrap up five days live-fire drills at sea – exercises unpredictable Kim has labelled a \u201crehearsal for war\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

North Korea has continued to provoke the West by testing nuclear weapons as well as long-range ballistic missiles, raising fears of World War 3 breaking out in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n

And today, Senator Bob Corker warned the President was “taking the US on a path to combat” with his approach to the rogue state.<\/span><\/p>\n

General Jeong Kyeong-doo, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and US Forces Korea chief General Vincent Brooks met aboard the massive aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Yonghap News Agency reports General Jeong Kyeong-doo as saying: “Amid an unprecedentedly grave security situation, the deployment of Ronald Reagan and its carrier strike group to the Korean Peninsula and their joint exercise with South Korea is part of the increased deployment of US strategic assets here.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt must have been a strong warning to North Korea.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It comes as Donald Trump imposed new tougher sanctions on North Korea for its continued nuclear weapons programme.<\/span><\/p>\n

The bill passed by Congress also honours US student Otto Warmbier who died following his detention by Kim Jong-un\u2019s regime.<\/span><\/p>\n

Republican representative Kevin McCarthy said: \u201dI do want it noted that the North Korean sanction legislation – we have changed the name.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We are going to honour Otto Warmbier who was brutalised and tortured by the Kim regime.”<\/span><\/p>\n

South Korean naval vessels have been training alongside the nuclear-powered USS Ronald Reagan, which can launch up to 90 state-of-the-art warplanes.<\/span><\/p>\n

And it emerged last week nearly 50 American heavy attack helicopters had been brought in to take part in the latest exercises over concerns North Korean special forces could try to invade the south by sea.<\/span><\/p>\n

General Jeong Kyeong-doo added: \u201dThe latest joint exercise has been an opportunity to further improve the ability to carry out joint operations.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe allies would continue to maintain their strong, joint posture to fight tonight through close cooperation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

This week Japan warned the threat from the secretive north, through both nuclear and conventional weapons, had \u201creached a critical and imminent level.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Defence Minister Itsunori Onodera told Reuters: \u201cThe threat posed by North Korea has grown to the unprecedented, critical and imminent level.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTherefore, we have to take calibrated and different responses to meet with that level of threat.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Both American and South Korean troops stationed in East Asia have maintained a combat readiness motto of \u201cready to fight tonight\u201d in case unpredictable Kim launches a preemptive strike or attempts an invasion of Seoul.<\/span><\/p>\n

This week\u2019s naval drills are just the latest in a series of exercises by the allied forces.<\/span><\/p>\n

American bombers, escorted by stealth fighter jets, have been flying missions in international airspace along the hermit state\u2019s border for months.<\/span><\/p>\n

And US commanders recently vowed to continue the sorties, despite a warning by Kim\u2019s regime that it \u201creserved the right\u201d to shoot them down.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump and the North Korean despot have continued to trade insults and threats.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr Trump has previously warned Kim he would \u201ctotally destroy\u201d the north if it dared attack the US or one of its allies.<\/span><\/p>\n

In response, the dictator called the President \u201cmentally deranged\u201d and said American would \u201cpay a dear price\u201d for its threats.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Nimitz-class USS Ronald Reagan was deployed to East Asia in May.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 100,000 ton carrier took part in exercises with Japanese forces before sailing to South Korea for the latest round of drills.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last month, Kim\u2019s state media service broadcast a clip depicting the destruction of American planes and the USS Carl Vinson, another of the US navy\u2019s Nimitz-class carriers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 99-second propaganda montage spliced footage of real missiles firing from ground and sea-based launchers before slamming in to computer generated images of US warplanes and ships.<\/span><\/p>\n
