Over the course of the next six months, the Commission will meet to discuss the issues, evaluate data, and engage key stakeholders.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\">&#8220;Our goal is to enhance and protect the intercollegiate athletic experience for every student-athlete and, in doing so, to safeguard the integrity of the game.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\">The group will meet several times and will deliver recommendations on changes at the Board of Directors meeting in April.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\">Also on the committee is: former players Grant Hill and David Robinson, former coaches Mike Montgomery and John Thompson III, president of the Association of American Universities Mary Sue Coleman, retired U.S. Army General Martin E. Dempsey, former Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley, Hofstra athletic director Jeffrey A. Hathaway, Notre Dame president John I. Jenkins, Georgia Tech president G.P. \u201cBud\u201d Peterson, former White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler and Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\">An FBI sting last month swept up representatives for shoe companies, agents and college basketball coaches involving a variety of charges. Four assistant basketball coaches were accused by the FBI of taking bribes in exchange for coercing players to sign with certain agents when the players turned pro. The assistants were Oklahoma State&#8217;s Lamont Evans, Auburn\u2019s Chuck Person, Southern California\u2019s Tony Bland and Arizona\u2019s Emanuel \u201cBook\u201d Richardson.
