5 shot on West, Northwest sides<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

5 shot on West, Northwest sides:- Five people were injured in city shootings on Monday — three of them in the South Austin neighborhood.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the city’s most recent shooting, a 19-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting around 8:50 p.m. in the 200 block of North Mason Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side, police said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The man was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition after he was shot in the head.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just a few blocks away in the same neighborhood, another 19-year-old man was shot and injured earlier Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Around 3:05 p.m., the man was shot in the 5900 block of West Madison Street, police said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The man was shot in the buttocks and was rushed to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in good condition, according to police.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just five minutes earlier around 3 p.m., a woman, 20, also was shot in South Austin in the 700 block of North Pine Avenue, officers said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The woman was shot in the upper body when an occupant of a dark blue SUV fired at her, police said. She was also taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The latter two shootings did not appear to be related, police said.<\/span><\/p>\n

  • About 7:15 p.m., a man was shot in the Portage Park neighborhood, police said. Officers were called to the 5000 block of West Roscoe Street on the Northwest Side and found a man, 25, with gunshot wounds to the side, leg and arm, according to police. The man was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital where his condition was stabilized, officials said.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • A 28-year-old man was in good condition after he was shot in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side around 6 p.m., authorities said. The man was shot in the left arm in the 4700 block of West Lake Street. He was taken to a Stroger Hospital in good condition.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Detectives are investigating all five cases and no arrests have been made, according to police.<\/span><\/p>\n
