Boris Johnson backs fresh North Korea sanctions to CRIPPLE Kim Jong-un’s nuclear programme<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

BORIS Johnson has backed other foreign ministers in a plan to impose fresh sanctions on North Korea in a bid to cripple the country\u2019s expanding nuclear programme.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Foreign Secretary detailed the effort that will dismantle vital sources of revenue that is currently being poured into Pyongyang\u2019s weapons programme.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said: “North Korea continues to pose an unacceptable threat to the international community, which is why the UK, working closely with our European allies, has secured a set of stringent new sanctions upon the regime.<\/span><\/p>\n

“As I have said before, the North Korean regime must bear full responsibility for the measures that the international community is enacting against it, including these sanctions.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Maximising diplomatic and economic pressure on North Korea is the most effective way to pressure Pyongyang to halt its illegal and aggressive actions.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The current ban on EU investment into the hermit kingdom will be strengthened and exports of oil will cease in a bid to stop the escalating world tensions from despot leader Kim Jong-un.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new sanctions will also include new restrictions on North Korean workers in the EU in an effort to destabilise the current flow of money heading to the isolationist nation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Further countries are set to follow Britain in the plan to put an economic squeeze on Pyongyang.<\/span><\/p>\n

World efforts to diffuse the palpable nuclear tension imposed by North Korea come at a time Kim Jong-un and President Donald Trump find themselves locked in a war of words.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pyongyang has declared it is on the \u201cbrink of war\u201d because of Trump as it sends another threat to the US President amid World War 3 fears.<\/span><\/p>\n

North Korea accused Trump of being a \u201cwar merchant\u201d for abusing the arms trade for \u201cworld domination\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trump requires \u201cserious attention\u201d after threatening the \u201ctotal destruction\u201d of North Korea, the hermit kingdom said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through the state-run Korean Central News Agency, the rogue nation claimed the Korean peninsula is on the \u201cbrink of war\u201d because of Trump\u2019s \u201cintent to open up markets for military hardware\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

It comes after Kim Jong-un\u2019s regime sent a chilling warning shot to the President, telling him the \u201cUS mainland will be reduced to ashes\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

General Barry McCaffrey recently shocked a television interviewer when he revealed a \u201cwar is scheduled\u201d with North Korea.<\/span><\/p>\n

The retired general said the US would be at war with the rogue state \u201cby next summer\u201d in an NBC interview.<\/span><\/p>\n

General McCaffrey said: \u201cThe problem is we\u2019ve got so many crises going on now, potentially, that he\u2019s overloading the diplomatic effort, as well as the US armed forces\u2019 ability to deal with it.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t want us to take our eye off North Korea.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The current language out of the administration, that lack of a diplomatic and serious engagement strategy, in my view, has us sliding toward war by next summer.<\/span><\/p>\n

“This war is on schedule under this administration.”<\/span><\/p>\n
