Eminem Lashes Out at Trump With Freestyle Rap Video<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Eminem Lashes Out at Trump With Freestyle Rap Video:- The rapper Eminem struck out at President Trump in a video that played at the BET Hip Hop Awards on Tuesday, accusing the president of racism, hypocrisy, disrespect of military veterans and more in almost five minutes of furious freestyle rap.<\/span><\/p>\n

He also excoriated Mr. Trump for his responses to the recent violence in Charlottesville, Va., the devastation in Puerto Rico from Hurricane Maria and the mass shooting in Las Vegas.<\/span><\/p>\n

The video, titled \u201cThe Storm,\u201d was filmed in Detroit as part of the BET Hip Hop Awards\u2019 traditional cyphers, in which rappers typically aim to deliver showy verses in a group setting. In his solo appearance, Eminem, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap, name-drops Colin Kaepernick (\u201cThis is for Colin\/ball up a fist\u201d), Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Stephen K. Bannon. Throughout, he alludes to an array of Mr. Trump\u2019s political clashes, including a reference to Senator John McCain (\u201cUnless you\u2019re a P.O.W. who\u2019s tortured and battered\/\u2019cause to him you\u2019re zeroes\/\u2019cause he don\u2019t like his war heroes captured.\u201d)<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Kaepernick expressed his support on Twitter with a raised fist emoji.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eminem also ripped into his fans who are Trump supporters.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd any fan of mine\/who\u2019s a supporter of his\/I\u2019m drawing in the sand a line\/you\u2019re either for or against\/and if you can\u2019t decide\/who you like more and you\u2019re split\/on who you should stand beside\/I\u2019ll do it for you with this,\u201d he raps, before giving the middle finger to the camera.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eminem, who has never shied away from a feud, has made Mr. Trump a target before. In August, during a performance at the Reading Festival in the United Kingdom, Eminem told the crowd that he \u201ccan\u2019t stand\u201d the president before leading them in an obscene anti-Trump chant. Days earlier, at a concert in Glasgow, the rapper wore a shirt reading \u201cFACK TRUMP\u201d and made similar comments about the president before performing his song \u201cWhite America.\u201d (\u201cSee the problem is\/I speak to suburban kids\/who otherwise would\u2019ve never knew these words exist.\u201d)<\/span><\/p>\n

But in an earlier era, the two men appeared together amicably. Ahead of the 2004 presidential election, Mr. Trump made a cameo in the Eminem concert special \u201cThe Shady National Convention,\u201d which aired on MTV. \u201cI know a winner when I see one,\u201d Mr. Trump said in an endorsement of Eminem\u2019s alter-ego, Slim Shady. \u201cDonald Trump is telling you right now Slim Shady is a winner. He\u2019s got brains, he\u2019s got guts and he\u2019s got Donald Trump\u2019s vote.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The rapper\u2019s dense, blistering lyrics have courted controversy in the past, with some accusing him of writing homophobic and misogynistic verses.<\/span><\/p>\n

And this is not the first time that Eminem has tackled politics in his songs: He has also taken aim at Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and George W. Bush. Last October, he released the freestyle track \u201cCampaign Speech,\u201d in which he called Mr. Trump \u201ca loose cannon who\u2019s blunt with his hand on the button.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Eminem is thought to be gearing up for the release this year of his eighth major-label album and first since \u201cThe Marshall Mathers LP 2\u201d in 2013. (A longtime producer for the rapper said earlier this month that the new music was \u201cdone.\u201d) In the last few years, he has popped up for occasional guest verses and soundtrack songs \u2014 he is featured on Pink\u2019s \u201cRevenge,\u201d out Friday \u2014 but has largely remained in the shadows, away from celebrity and social media.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes I think that if I get comfortable or set in my ways of doing something, maybe I should step back for a minute and figure out how to mix it up a little bit,\u201d he told The New York Times in 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other hip-hop artists and rappers have also targeted the president in their lyrics and music videos. The California rapper YG released a single last August called \u201cFDT,\u201d in which he repeatedly curses Mr. Trump\u2019s name. Kendrick Lamar lashed out at Mr. Trump in his tracks \u201cThe Heart Part 4\u201d and \u201cXXX.\u201d Snoop Dogg\u2019s music video \u201cLavender,\u201d in which the rapper aimed a toy pistol at a clown resembling Mr. Trump, earned a rebuke and a call for \u201cjail time!\u201d from the president himself in March.<\/span><\/p>\n
