76ers, Devils ownership group expanding properties<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

76ers, Devils ownership group expanding properties: -The ownership group that manages the Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Devils and English Premier League\u2019s Crystal Palace FC created a new organization called Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment, and it will focus on acquiring sports franchises, sports venues and sports and entertainment properties.<\/span><\/p>\n

Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment is managed by Josh Harris and David Blitzer, and HBSE also owns Prudential Center, e-sports franchise Team Dignitas, the Sixers Innovation Lab, the G-League\u2019s Delaware 87ers, the American Hockey League\u2019s Binghamton Devils and the soon-to-open East Coast home of the Grammy Museum.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We take pride in hiring the best and brightest talent from a variety of backgrounds and industries with the goal of shaping a well-rounded, dynamic organization,” Blitzer said in a statement. “HBSE provides a unique opportunity to harness the power of our talented management team and our shared resources to fuel growth and expansion, and a means to accelerate and sustain long-term success.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Harris and Blitzer, who made their fortune in investment firms and private equity, and Scott O\u2019Neil says they will bring their business approach to this venture.<\/span><\/p>\n

O\u2019Neil, who has been named CEO of HBSE and will continue as CEO of the 76ers, Devils and Prudential Center, said, “If you look at these how these big private equity firms have built their businesses, it\u2019s the same values: have a passion for the business, have a great management team and then search for real opportunity. They have big eyes, and they are smart and talented, and we have an opportunity to do something special in this business.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Josh Harris and David Blitzer see the value in content in sports and entertainment, and it\u2019s exploding.”<\/span><\/p>\n

O\u2019Neil, a longtime NBA executive, also will oversee team and sports property acquisitions, and HBSE has an aggressive approach that also will look for international opportunities while streamlining business operations.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for a roadmap, look at Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), which owns sports franchises, arenas and a film production company among other businesses, and Madison Square Garden Company, which owns sports franchises and entertainment and dining properties.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the new HBSE structure:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  • Hugh Weber is president and will continue as president of the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Chris Heck is president of the 76ers, and Lara Price is chief operating officer of the team.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Adam Davis is the chief revenue officer of the Devils and Prudential Center.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Jake Reynolds named chief revenue officer of the Sixers.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Kate O\u2019Reilly is chief marketing officer for the 76ers.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Brad Shron promoted to general counsel of HBSE.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
